I will present the fundamental techniques for three dimensional graphics from the inside-out. Almost anybody can plug a set of 3D points into a 3D engine like Unity or Unreal but to make the best use of the engine it is helpful to understand the internal techniques used by these engines.
Rather than using a black-box third-party engine like Unity that hides all the implementation details, we will use a C++ program to see how these techniques work and are applied.
The 3D pipeline is inherently a sequential process, aka single-threaded. We will discuss some opportunities for multi-threaded optimizations.
